Special Workshop

2-day workshop $250 + $25 materials fee
This two-day workshop is designed to dispel the notion that “pinching” is merely a beginner’s technique. Participants will explore numerous variations on the pinching method including: creating larger forms, working intuitively, and exploring asymmetrical forms. Surface treatments will include: imprinting plants and other textures, incorporating found objects, and burnishing and applying terra sigillata.
The workshop concludes with a pit (sawdust) firing using bisqueware brought by the participants. The pots will be buried in sawdust and smoldered overnight. Multiple techniques will be employed to encourage various surface effects including the use of sulfates, masking parts of the surface and wrapping the pots with copper wire to achieve linear marks and blushing effects.
The firing is scheduled for 2 weeks after this workshop and meets at a site 45 minutes from Rebel Potters Studio. Exact timing of the pit firing will be discussed among participants.

We are continuing our popular $10 community workshops this winter. These workshops are open to anyone age 11 and up. Come visit the studio, decorate a clay tile, and maybe get hooked on pottery! No experience necessary. All materials supplied.
Please note that there are no refunds for cancellations at any time. We also do not permit switching your registration to a future date. If you are registered and ultimately cannot attend, please email rebelpotters@gmail.com so we can offer a scholarship spot to a member of the Germantown community.

Friday Night Clay Dates

Once a month, we host a themed Friday Night Clay Date for adults. Bring friends, family, or yourself for an evening of creativity and fun. No experience necessary. All materials supplied.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Workshops that do not meet our enrollment threshold will be cancelled. If your workshop is cancelled, you will be notified a week before the workshop date. All workshops that are cancelled for any reason will be refunded 100%.
If you need to cancel your workshop registration for any reason, please reach out to rebelpotters@gmail.com as soon as possible. If you cancel more than two weeks before the workshop date, you are eligible for a 90% refund. Cancellations made within two weeks of the workshop are eligible for a 75% refund. No refunds shall be given for any cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop. If you need to switch your enrollment to another workshop, we will permit a one-time rescheduling with no additional fee. However, any request to switch dates that is made within 24 hours of the workshop will incur a $25 administrative fee.
